We roast together, laugh together, and play competitive sports together. Heck, we even have a dog.
Our party starter and the ultimate host, don’t be surprised to find Kirby serving your morning latte across the bar, or cooking up a storm in our kitchen.
Kirby’s love for great food started young, and some of his earliest memories are set in the kitchens of the hotel his parents owned in Australia. And after a successful sporting career (Kirby is a Former Australian No. 1 and National Under-19s Champion), he always knew his path would lead back to hospitality.
His work ethic is formidable, but his philosophy simple – family first. And he’s proud to call The Roasting Party family his own.

Head of Coffee & Co-Founder
In his own words, Wes is ‘just a plain dude’. But we know him to be so much more than that.
Already armed with an Australian No. 1 squash title, Wes arrived in the UK at the age of 21 with a suitcase packed to last him for a few weeks, give or take. Eight years later, you can find him overseeing the half a tonne of beans that pass through our roastery every day.
Wes’ order? A flat white made with The Captain blend.
Head of Wholesale
Luke has been partying with us since 2016, looking after all things wholesale, as well as getting stuck in with the roasts. A former golf club pro and another of our squash champs, he’s a team player through and through.
Luke’s first day on the coffee circuit was spent being trained by the formidable Gwilym Davies (World Barista Champion 2009 and a pioneer of speciality coffee in the UK), before rising through the ranks in both commercial and premium coffee roles.
Luke’s order? Any seasonal single origin filter coffee will do nicely.
Head of Training and Service
Wherever you are in the UK, the chances are the barista serving your Roasting Party coffee has been trained by Ivan.
Hailing from the shores of Lake Como (not the George Clooney side, he’s keen to point out), in 2012 Ivan took the leap to leave Italy, and his engineering degree, to pursue his love for hospitality.
Over the past 2½ years, Ivan has trained over 600 budding baristas in all things The Roasting Party.
Ivan’s order? A flat white made with The Party blend.
Week in, week out, Nick is there giving hands on support to our customers, working closely with baristas across the UK.
Having come to us from our neighbours at Coffee Lab 3½ years ago, Nick is no stranger to the Winchester coffee scene. But it was his formative years in Middlesbrough that he credits for his friendly northern hospitality style.
Nick’s order? A flat white made with the Elixir 22 blend.
George is known for doing some seriously heavy lifting, and we don’t mean keeping our team of chaps in check. As a nationally competing power lifter, she trains 4/5 times a week and boasts some impressive stats (let’s just say our 70g sacks are absolutely no problem for her).
She famously hates coffee, but that doesn’t stop a cup appearing on her desk most Mondays. Our team love a challenge, after all.
George’s order? Peppermint tea (we’re working on it).
Ernie was never meant to be a permanent fixture at the roastery, but after one visit (and a lot of love from our team) it became clear he’d found his spiritual home. You’ll find Ernie stretched out under George’s desk, or trying his luck at the nearby greasy spoon.
Ernie’s order? He’ll happily snaffle up any coffee beans he can get his paws on.
