Ibutiti is a small independent estate located near Iriaini village, in Murang’a County, about 1.5hrs by car from Nairobi. For decades, Ibutiti’s official owner was William Murathe. He was not only a coffee farmer but a successful businessman. In his early days, William built a wine and spirits importing and distribution business. Sadly in 2017, aged 86, William passed away and the farm was divided into two blocks. A small portion is now called Waturi and farmed by his son David. The larger portion remained with his wife Mercy Murathe who is now officially the head of the farm.
